We had never even heard of frying a zucchini blossom, until we arrived in Milan 🇮🇹 that is! Dinner at a little neighborhood trattoria got us acquainted with it as it was a special on the menu that evening! 😉

Fried Zucchini blossoms are prepared by deep frying the stuffed blossoms! The stuffing varies. Fillings may include fresh mozzarella 🧀 and a basil 🌿 leaf, ricotta and herbs 🌿 , or perhaps an anchovy or slice of prosciutto! 😍

It’s easy to spot the Venetian Island 🌴 of Burano from the sea 🌊.The jewel 💎 -colored homes act like a beacon, which is what they were intended to be. According to island 🌴 lore, local fisherman 🐟 started painting their homes 🏡 in bright colors—hues of orange, red, yellow, and purple—so they could see them while out fishing in the fog and could follow their colors back home. 💐

If you live on Burano and wish to paint your house, you must send a letter to the government, and they’ll reply telling you which colors you’re allowed to paint your lot.❤️💛💚💙💜 For visitors, the homes are just a welcome dose of cheerfulness 😀😀😀. The nearly deserted island 🌴 of Torcello has a few interesting buildings worth seeing 👀. When you arrive at the dock, follow the little brick pathway along the canal. You’ll come to the recently renovated 15th century Ponte del Diavolo, the Devil’s 👻 Bridge. There are several legends associated with this little stone and brick canal crossing. One states that it takes its name from having been built by the devil 👻 in a single night. Interesting! 🤔🙄 Isn’t it?
