Our next stop in Parque Tierra Del Fuego was the stunning bluish-green Lago Roca! πŸžπŸ›Ά
Completely surrounded by the Guanaco and Piramides Mountain Ranges, both sub ranges of the Andes, Lago Roca is protected by Argentina’s Tierra Del Fuego National Park. 🌲🌲🌲 Lago Roca, is of glacier origin — it is the result of a natural embalming of the river Lapataia , product of a glacial moraine. The westernmost portion of the Lake crosses the international border into Chile, where the lake is known as Lago Errazuriz. Prior to being renamed Lago Roca and Errazuriz (depending on which side of the border you visit), the lake was known as Lago Acigami, the yagan native name.
After spending the afternoon at the lake, taking in all the calmness and tranquility that it offered, we headed towards our last stop in Parque Tierra Del Fuego! πŸ•Š

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?” — W.H. Davies

This is the quote which comes to my mind when I look at this pic from our first hike at Parque Tierra Del Fuego! We decided to take a moment and stare at this unadulterated beauty! 😍

The Senda Costera (Coast Trail) trail runs for approximately five miles along the coast past the grass-covered remains of middens (mounds of shells) left behind by the Yaghan, the indigenous peoples of the area. It was one of the longest trails that we had done till date (I know! πŸ™ˆ) The trail provided a surprisingly quiet yet varied and interesting amble through the park – sometimes taking us to pebble beaches 🌊 and other times providing an earthy trail πŸ›€. The further we walked, the less people we saw. The trail had a very peaceful and empty feeling as we wound around the coast, never far from water lapping at the shore. The ground was spotted with flowering orchids, and the views of Chile’s southern snowcapped Andes πŸ” were extraordinary. As time passed, the remoteness of this vast and empty land was more and more apparent.

After almost 4 hours we reached the end of the trail, super hungry but bubbling with the joy of making it to the end! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ #ruchyum #ruchyumtravel #ushuaia #argentina #goopgo #travelpics #beautifuldestinations

Beagle Channel ~ The Beagle Channel is a strait separating the main island of Tierra del Fuego from various other islands. It is one of the three navigable routes between Atlantic and Pacific Oceans at the southern tip of the South American continent. The Beagle channel is around 240 kilometers in length and 5 km wide at its narrowest point. Ushuaia the capital city of Tierra del Fuego lies in a bay on the northern shore of the Beagle Channel. ✈️ 🌊
It was the starting city for our trip to Antarctica – so we decided to spend a couple of days here before we go on the adventure of our lives! A few days, exploring the southernmost city of the world which has the motto: “Ushuaia, fin del mundo, principio de todo” “Ushuaia, end of the world, beginning of everything” 😍

Pictured here is the southernmost Andes as seen from Ushuaia!
