Travelgram from Lake Harmony, Poconos

For the fourth of July long weekend we headed to Lake Harmony in Poconos, PA for a fun and relaxing trip! There were a lot of the first time things that we had planned for the weekend – it was the first time that we had rented a place through Airbnb, it was the first time that we had planned on doing a BBQ, it was the first time that we didn’t have a packed schedule for the trip and it was the first time that mom-dad were with us!

The house was beyond perfect! Super cozy, pretty spacious for a lodge house, and stocked with everything you need! It was a block away from the beautiful view of Lake Harmony.

It had a nice deck, with an electric grill, where we tried to BBQ for the very first time and it was successful and delicious 😉 !

The summer fun seems incomplete, if you don’t go to a farm and pick-your-own fruits and vegetables, isn’t it? So we headed to Strawberry Acres to pick some juicy and luscious cherries!

The weather over the weekend was perfect to visit the Hickory Run State Park and wet our feet in the Hawks Falls, take a swim in the Sand Spring Lake, stroll along the Stametz Dam and talk a walk across Boulder Field!

A trip to the mountainous region is half-done until and unless you visit one of the local wineries and do a local wine tasting. Blue Ridge Estate Winery seemed to be the perfect pick for it. It had some of the best dessert wines that I have ever tasted. It also has a unique cherry wine, with 0% grapes in it – a must try!

On our drive back home we took a pit stop at the Delaware Water Gap and walked leisurely along one of their scenic trails and visited Bushkill Falls!

A trip on the 4th of July weekend is complete only if you see some magical and mind-blowing fireworks and we did – 3 different ones on 3 days – day one at Camelback Mountain Resort, day two at Lake Harmony and day 3 – the best one at NYC along the East River! Check out the video here 🙂

We had a great weekend enjoying the wooded scenery and the rushing waterfalls! A must visit place for anyone seeking a solitude weekend getaway 🙂
